bit by bit　Haruka Misawa

From the start of Milan Design Week 2026, we presented “bit by bit Haruka Misawa” at the ADI Design Museum in Milan for approximately two months. This marked the first solo exhibition in Europe for Misawa Design Institute.

The phrase “bit by bit” carries layered nuances of the minute and the inconsequential. In an age when information and expression surge into view only to vanish, we turned our attention to the small, familiar things so close at hand that they are almost overlooked—gently drawing out an unexpected “something” and giving it visible form.

Working with paper, wire, leaves, and other everyday materials, we revealed forms that feel unlike the materials themselves through observation, testing, and the patient passage of time. Within our ordinary days lies a world we see but do not notice. We designed an experience in which visitors, looking closely at the countless small works arranged across the display tables, might come to notice that discovery and the wonder it holds.
