Poems by Empress Michiko

Book Design

This book contains a collection of classical Japanese poems that were written by Empress Michiko, expressing her keen perspective on nature, and describing her feelings as a mother and her thoughts on time spent with the emperor. The poems are accompanied by beautiful photographs taken by Risaku Suzuki. The elegant serenity of the binding design suggests the dignified form of the empress herself. The pages of the book contain graceful classical Japanese printed with exquisite typography.
