I'Museum
VI/Experience

NDC designed the visual identity for I’Museum, which treats the entire Ichihara area in Chiba Prefecture as a history museum. Expressing the apostrophe in the name I’Museum as a large speech balloon, it functions as an icon for the museum, which is home to a wide-ranging historical heritage.

The elements of the visual identity are also presented in a consistent manner in posters and other promotional materials. Visiting residents and volunteer staff were asked to appear in posters promoting the interactive facilities in the museum. The aim was to create a style that conveys the atmosphere and warmth of the museum.

Signage

NDC designed signage plans that utilize the speech bubble as the icon of the museum. In addition to the pictograms and information signs found inside the museum, NDC created historical markers that serve as landmarks for instances of the valuable historical heritage scattered throughout the city. Spotting one of the speech bubbles in Ichihara indicates the history found there.
