Hakkaisan Kowakura Shikomi Junmai Daiginjo Saké

NDC designed the package for Kowakura Shikomi junmai daiginjo saké – a special sake containing all the expertise and passion of the famed Niigata saké brewer Hakkaisan. It features a label with calligraphy by Kyuyo Ishikawa, multiple seals with words in the spirit of Hakkaisan, a paper seal expressing the dedication to each and every bottle, and a lean bottle shape. It is a bold representation of the essence of Japanese saké that can communicate its message worldwide.

This series of advertisements portrays encounters between the internationally marketed Hakkaisan Kowakura Shikomi junmai daiginjo saké and Italy – said to be the mother of European cuisine. The photographs were taken at restaurants in various parts of Milano, and produce a story of Japanese saké bringing out the flavor of foods at dinner tables around the world. These ads are currently running in the All Nippon Airways in-flight magazine Kingdom of Wings.
