Fujita Kanko 60th Anniversary Publication “Memory of Ink”

Hakone Hotel Kowakien is operated by Fujita Kanko, and its guest book contains several thousand signatures of representatives from various fields in China dating from before relations between the countries were normalized, including the signature of former prime minister Li Peng. This book collects these valuable signatures together with their historical background and episodes told by those who were there at the time. The design focuses on “spaces” and “margins” in order to highlight the signatures which reveal something about the minds of the persons writing them.
