"Design Drawn out of Phenomena" by art director Haruka Misawa, who leads Misawa Design Laboratory at NDC, has been awarded the 2019 Mainichi Design Award (organized by the Mainichi Shimbun).
Her works include "waterscape," an exploration that reexamines aquatic creatures' ecological environments from the ground up, and "Turning Flowers,” a depiction of scattered flowers — rotating in mid-air to form blossoms — for Kohfukuji Temple's Central Golden Hall restoration ceremony.
Both designs were highly acclaimed for their observation and visualization of invisible phenomena. (Link)
