The 2020 Morisawa calendar "Characters from 'Continuous Paper Sheets' by Ono no Michikaze" by Kenya Hara, our President and Director of Hara Design Institute, has received both the Japan Federation of Printing Industries Chairman's Award and the First Category Gold Award at the 71st National Calendar Exhibition.
The calendar boldly presents the characters created by Ono no Michikaze (attributed), a representative calligrapher of the Heian period, treating them as elegant objects without parallel in the world and showcasing their form. They are primarily composed of Kanji numerals, resulting in a design that maintains practicality while emphasizing Japanese aesthetics.
