When Paper Moves
Unveiling Hidden Mysteries

“When Paper Moves” was created for “Design Scope—Peering into Wonder, Discovering Wonder,” celebrating the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art’s 5th anniversary.
Sand grains. Marble curves. Acrylic clarity. Nail silhouettes. Thin spaces between stacked papers. As small papers move around materials, the hidden “essence” of ordinary things emerges. We discover lovable qualities in what we thought we knew, but never truly saw.
Paper's unexpected liveliness and its uniquely subtle movements—when these meet materials, we see that ordinary scenes consist of countless fragments that are anything but ordinary.
