New Possibilities for Underwater Landscapes

“Waterscape” rebuilds environments for underwater life.

Underwater, buoyancy creates a unique environment where forces opposite to those in air exist. Sand slowly sinks to the bottom; floating plants rise gently to the surface. Even fragile structures that would break under their own weight on land can maintain stable forms. By deliberately controlling these “floating” and “sinking” effects, we created diverse landscapes.

Look closely at each creation and relationships emerge—between organisms and their environment, between individual creatures themselves. “Waterscape” isn’t merely for appreciation; it’s for observing fish ecology. While considering environments where living creatures can exist as naturally as possible, we've explored new possibilities beyond conventional aquariums.
