UENO PLANET
A Fresh Perspective on a Familiar Zoo

Ueno Zoo is Japan’s most famous and most visited zoo, as well as the country’s first. While most visitors come to see popular animals like pandas and elephants, the zoo actually houses around 3,000 animals across 300 species and features rich natural environments including forests, mountains, and rivers.
UENO PLANET aims to highlight these lesser-known attractions, encouraging both children and adults to see this familiar zoo with fresh eyes.
By reimagining Ueno Zoo as a living planet, we unveiled overlooked wonders that were always present. This creates an experience where each visit brings new discoveries, keeping the zoo fresh for visitors of any age.
