SUBKAMITURE

Turning to a New Side of Paper

SUBKAMITURE is a free paper whose name combines the Japanese words for “subculture” and “paper.”

Published by Yamato, a paper trading company, it was created as part of Yamato’s corporate branding to expand the possibilities of paper and help people experience paper’s pleasures, even as digital media flourishes.

Because paper is a material that appeals to the senses, the experience of turning pages should appeal to the senses as well. We crafted a publication that engages sight, touch, and reading pleasure by developing unique content and experimental graphic design with an editorial stance that embraces the unusual, rather than maintaining a serious approach. The result is a booklet that appeals to both visual and tactile senses.
