Pierre Hermé “Ispahan”
Forms Born from Hands and Fingers

Pierre Hermé’s masterpiece “Ispahan” transcends confectionery to embody the very essence of gustatory pleasure.
We were asked to collaborate through packaging with the pastry chef known as the Picasso of patisserie. While keeping the cake as the protagonist, we proposed dedicated containers that hint at extraordinary taste experiences to come.
These molded packages feature seamless, smooth curved forms and the delicate, moist texture of pulp. Shapes like whipped cream, like dough pressed by fingers, like rounded swells of pure white tension. Each of the three forms that gently embrace the cakes was realized by kneading paper clay by hand to explore prototypes, determining the sculpted form with fingertips, and finally polishing with sandpaper.
