ONE L’ORÉAL JAPAN
Finding Beauty in Imperfection

NDC directed the corporate branding for L'Oréal Japan (2,300 employees), the Japanese subsidiary of the world's leading cosmetics company, L'Oréal Group.
L’Oréal Japan is an exceptionally diverse and complex organization, with 18 distinctive brands and four critical functions—marketing, research and development, manufacturing, and brand headquarters—all concentrated domestically. We expressed L’Oréal Japan’s identity, which demanded stronger connections between individual employees, in a clear and innovative way.
Built around the paradoxical tagline “Going beyond with an imperfect team,” we featured employees from various roles and backgrounds as models in the key visuals. For the graphics, we visualized their new stance by creating a flag using “suminagashi” (Japanese marbling), a unique pattern symbolizing L’Oréal's distinctiveness. The film powerfully conveys both individual diversity and unity by capturing each employee using different techniques and presentations.
