Okamura Orgatec Tokyo 2025

One Hundred Chairs, One Hundred Ideas

We led the creative direction for Okamura’s exhibition at Orgatec Tokyo 2025, Japan’s largest international trade fair for office furniture.

Our concept, “Chair, Isu, Okamura,” sought to communicate approximately eighty years of expertise—a legacy of crafting chairs that support daily life across Japan, from offices to train stations, airports, schools, and hospitals. To tell this story, we designed an immersive exhibition space where a reusable structure encircling the venue housed one hundred chairs.

Each Okamura chair carries its own distinct technology and craft. Visitors could pull out and sit in any chair as they would draw a book from a library shelf, while dedicated “Okamura Chair Masters”—specialists on hand to guide and explain—ensured that each of the one hundred chairs could be understood and experienced fully, in both mind and body.
