Nomura Securities “It’s Nomura from 1-1 Nihonbashi”

Bringing Post Office-Like Familiarity to a Securities Firm

Nomura Securities is one of Japan's largest securities companies. Today, it has grown into a global financial services group with networks spanning approximately 30 countries and regions worldwide.

During the 1960s, amid Japan’s rapid economic growth, stock investment was becoming increasingly popular. However, securities companies had not yet achieved the same level of familiarity as banks and post offices. With this backdrop, we produced product advertisements for Nomura Securities.

This advertisement, featuring a female employee ringing a doorbell to highlight Nomura’s home-visit service, became the first step toward realizing Nomura Securities’ goal of making securities savings accessible to the masses.

In the 1960’s, securities companies had not yet acquired the familiarity that a bank or post office enjoyed. This advertisement picturing a female employee ringing the front doorbell of a customer’s home as she makes home visits was the first step in communicating Nomura Securities’ objective of bringing securities style savings to the general public.
