Color Set in Motion
Liquitex, a brand of acrylic paint known for its high quality, offers excellent color development, extensive variety, and broad expressive possibilities, making it beloved by artists worldwide.
We were tasked with redesigning the packaging for their acrylic gouache, characterized by its opaque, uniform, matte finish. As a later entrant in the acrylic gouache category, the product faced low brand recognition, requiring eye-catching shelf appeal. To communicate the allure of paint as a product, we sought to establish a visual identity that harmonized with the creative process.
We developed a design motif featuring paint dripping from the logo. Additionally, by incorporating a system where shapes change according to color brightness values, we created dynamic packaging that stimulates creative inspiration.
Package
Packaging design for acrylic paints characterized by an even, opaque, matted finish. The paint dripping from the Liquitex logo expresses the characteristics of the paint. We set up a system to change the shape of the drip according to the numerical value indicating the lightness (value) of the colors. We aimed to create a dynamic packaging design that fits well with creative activities.
