Camakuruma
The Traveling Snow Hut

A kamakura is a dome-shaped shelter made of packed snow, a beloved winter tradition in Japan’s snow-covered regions.
Camakuruma, whose name plays on this traditional snow hut, is a concept camping vehicle jointly developed by Hoshino Resorts Alts Bandai, Camping Car Co., and Toyota. As the camping vehicle market expands, bringing new users and diverse services, Camakuruma emerged as an innovative solution for enjoying both the journey to skiing locations and the snow-covered terrain.
During development, Toyota’s specialized 2.5D printing technology precisely recreated snow’s texture and dimensionality. Stepping inside reveals an interior that immerses visitors in a pristine snow world. The logo design was carefully crafted to pursue a cohesive winter narrative throughout.
