Inujima Art Project Signage Plan

Imagination that transcends time and space

The “Inujima Art Project ‘Seirensho’” (now: Inujima Seirensho Art Museum) preserved and revitalized the remains of a copper refinery on Inujima, a remote island floating in the Seto Inland Sea.

We believed that the logo mark and signage required a design that would enhance the appeal of both the refinery ruins built over 100 years ago and the scenic landscapes of the Seto Inland Sea.

By referencing typography from ancient Roman Empire inscriptions, we overlapped imagery from ancient Mediterranean civilizations to express a sense that transcends time and space, hoping this would spark the imagination of visitors.
