Systems Generate Uniqueness

This is the headquarters of Furukawa MFG. Co., Ltd., a company that “creates creation” by supporting manufacturing across diverse industries. Alongside the construction of a new office building and factory designed by Schemata Architects, we renewed everything from signage to visual identity and web design.

For this company, which possesses the contradictory characteristics of “precision” and “flexibility,” we needed to establish a consistent design system from architecture to digital elements. Additionally, the system itself was expected to become the corporate identity.

Starting from the architectural grid system, we developed a dot-based signage plan that flows continuously from the street to the interior. By applying the same concept to the visual identity and interactive web design, we achieved an integrated experience. This project received the Grand Prize and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 58th Japan Sign Design Awards.

Signage

We designed a signage system that creates seamless continuity from outdoors to indoors by arranging dots on an architectural grid structure. The typeface used on the ground surface was custom-designed based on familiar road markings. Additionally, we installed signs throughout the property inspired by public road signage, intentionally conveying the impression of an open, accessible space.

Visual Identity

This visual identity expresses Furukawa Manufacturing's flexibility and adaptability—their ability to create value with diverse companies—through an assembly of “parts that can take any form.” The composition, built on an architectural grid system, evokes the precision characteristic of the robotics field.

Web / App

Through isometric 3D animations and an interactive, editable website, we successfully visualized Furukawa Manufacturing’s dual corporate characteristics: the “precision” of their production systems and the “flexibility” that allows customization for each client.
