Furniture That Deepens in Character Over Time
ASPLUND CONTRACT features sophisticated handmade craftsmanship from its factory on Cebu Island, where delicate furniture manufacturing techniques have taken root. While primarily serving restaurants, hotels, and similar establishments, they design, produce, and sell furniture that enhances its surroundings.
We created a promotional video as an alternative to traditional catalog marketing, with the aim of conveying the technical excellence residing in the details of handcrafted furniture while emphasizing how furniture weaves stories together with its environment.
The video employs a split-screen composition placing furniture and spaces side by side, simultaneously showcasing furniture details and spatial contexts. By introducing scenes of scenery swaying in the breeze, we contrast the stationary furniture, expressing how it stands collecting the passage of time and deepening the richness of its environment. The video visualizes the unique value of textured handmade furniture—weaving narratives and adorning moments in space.
Movie
This image movie is used at exhibitions held by ASPLUND, a manufacturer of furniture for commercial facilities such as hotels, restaurants, and cafés. It was filmed on Cebu Island and a variety of locations in Japan and overseas to express the “handmade furniture with character that deepens over time” concept that ASPLUND is dedicated to. It expresses the furniture as a part of the scenery, and the storytelling elements that viewers can sense from it.
