MUSUBI Posters MUSUBI Posters

This series of three posters, titled MUSUBI [knot], was exhibited at a poster exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum of Sao Paulo in 1995. The theme of the series is the ambiguity of the term musubi. In Japan, the shape of a knot has had a great number of meanings: the fulfillment of love and marriage; a seal; and sometimes, happiness. And then, when a knot is untied, a seal is broken, triggering one's imagination of some sort of movement beginning, a galvanization into action.
