In the late 1970’s, the period of high-growth and materialistic wealth transformed into an era in which diverse lifestyles became accepted means of meeting the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. By vividly depicting a story that emerges from goods rather than merely promoting the goods themselves, the Isetan department store graphically portrayed its unique affinity with the times.
