"Re-Design Exhibition"

This project was participated in by creators with distinct visions, including architects, product designers, graphic designers, lighting and fashion designers, artists, photographers and novelists. These individuals were asked to take ordinary, anonymous objects such as a toilet-paper roll and a matchbox, and design them anew. But this is not an exhibition comprised of proposals made by talented creators. Our primary intent was to clarify the intrinsic, vital essence of design by relating to the gap between conventional forms and materials of these objects and the re-designed pieces.
Each of these daily commodities has its own unique history and particular production method, while the participants in the project possess their own vision or philosophy of manufacturing. This exhibition highlights the integration of such commodities and the creatorsÕ ideas.
