The signage system for Katta Civic Polyclinic allows for clear visual interpretation by using large Chinese characters. These are laid out on the floors as well as on the walls. Setting the characters into the floor material is a revolutionary point of this design solution. The linoleum of floors and characters are of different colors. Painting characters on the floors would probably lead to problems with peeling due to friction of footwear, but the inlay design poses no such difficulty. We expect these characters to remain sharp and clear for a long time to come. Architecturally, the space is designed to ensure a luminous path flow similar to that of an airport lobby. The embedded guidance signage is systematically organized, pivoting on a red cross symbol representing the main intersection of the building complex. The floors of the hospital examination area and the verification facilities area are red, while green is the prevailing color in the wards.
